Following the recent announcement of his call-up to the national team for the 2026 VNL, the good news for us Bianconeri continues. Mattia Orioli, with his trusty number 14 now sewn onto his back, is preparing for his third consecutive season in Padua! A journey of continuous growth for the Cesena native, born in 2004, who has made consistency and a sense of belonging his hallmarks here at the club. For Mattia, Padua has never been just a name on his contract, but a passion and bond that clearly shine through in his words when he talks about this club, the team, and the people who work there every day.
“For me, Padova represents a group, from the players to the staff, to everyone who works inside the arena, and it represents trust. The club’s trust in me, which I always try to repay to the fullest. What ties me to this place is above all the desire everyone has to always put in the effort, to train, and to give their all. Every single member of this team always gives their all, because we all fight for a single goal: to entertain the fans and give ourselves a lot of satisfaction.”
The season just ended was one of the most intense of his career. Padova fought on every pitch, collecting important victories against top-level teams and proving they can compete with anyone. It was a season that therefore left many positive moments, but also, on occasion, a bitter taste in the mouth. “There are some regrets, especially the matches against Monza, towards the end, which could have given us the opportunity to fight for eighth place. But apart from that, it was a very beautiful and rewarding season.”
