Society history
La società nasce nel 1972 con la formazione di un gruppo di giovani che giocavano nel Don Bosco Sassuolo. il salto di qualità si ha quando la Virtus acquisisce il titolo di Serie C della Torre Reggio Emilia, completato dall'arrivo di Gianpaolo Guidetti che getta le basi per l'arrivo in Serie A nel 76. Dopo due stagioni di assestamento la società assorbe il Cesenatico di Di Bernardo e Zanolli e la squadra passa al fratello Adriano Guidetti.
