Teleunit Gioia Del Colle: The victory was needed and the victory has come. Great match played by Gioia that won 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-22) Semifinals game 2. Gioia did start the match very well and after a while the score reached 12-10. Pineto fought back and the set seems to become really tight. None team is able to score the crucial break. Only when the score reaches 22-21 a Baldaccini block allows Gioia to score that break and eventually close the set in its favour 25-22.
In the second set Gioia is always in control of the game also thanks to the too many Pineto mistakes. Everything seems easy for Gioia and also the second set goes in the home team’s hands with the score of 25-17.
Third set has been literally heartbreaking with Pineto showing an amazing determination and Giovia not ready to give up anything. Like in the first set the score, after 13-13, keeps staying close and tight. Once again the crucial break arrives when the score reaches 21-21. Great Gioia defenses and the score reaches 23-21. Gioia feel that the victory is very close and Polidori transform the first match point in victory.
Now it is time to think at Game 3, scheduled on Sunday at 6.00PM. The arena will be most likely sold out and Gioia will be able to count once again to its awesome crowd.
