The last derby between Bassano and Verona took place at PalaBassano on the 18th of january 2004 in fron of 2000 people and Verona won 0-3 which doubled what they did in the first leg in a championship that promoted them to A1 after dominating and winning the regular season.
Four years later only Ramon Gato is still part of the team, but tradition sees Verona as the great favourite of the derby and this time for the promotion.
The team seems to have found the right gear after a slow start. On monmday evening on SKY, it will be Fiorese Spa’s turn to try and stop their journey with 6 consecutive victories up to now.

It will not be easy byt Mr Dalla Fina wants to be positive: “Verona is surely a team with a highest technical level but I believe that their strength is manily psycological at the moment.
They are convinced about their strangth and they play with the awareness of being strong: with such an attitude you go on court with a lot of determination and confidence, which added to a high technical level, gives great results.
This is the attitude that is missing in my team at times. I believe I have a strong team at hand, made of technically valid players; I believe Fiorese has a strong team this year and technically they are not less than the others, but they pay for not believing in their own abilities.
Both with Catania and Taviano I have seen a determined and confident team and the results came. Sometimes though, lacking in personality and attitude, we end up losing points we could make.
The match with forli is an example of that: let’s not talk about the opponents’ clear merits, I must say that I did not see the same determination I saw in other matches.
Let’s look ahead now. We are facing a very difficult match, but I am convinced that we can play it: the main thing is to find the right spirit again, the determination we had in the previous weeks and the confidence in our strength.
That is the only way we can win”.

Solo così avremo qualche chanches di portare a casa un risultato positivo”.
