It’s been an explosion of joy for the hundred fans or so that went to Rome to support their team. Indeed, Goia del Colle came out victorious at the tie-break. Roma made many changes while the guests showed signs the team is starting to gel.
“Besides the first set in which Gioia struggled to face Roma’s game – explained sport director Gianni Montanari – in the following sets, we managed to improve a lot, be that on the block or in reception. Good understanding between Dias and Nuzzo, and between Rigoni and Manassero too. It’s a shame we lost the fourth set, some careless mistakes from the refs influenced the play and forced is to go to the tie-break and divide the points with Rome. But that’s alright, a positive result away in Rome is good for the spirit and the table”.
