Bassano is working hard in the gym with Crema’s game in sight. After three games in eight days however, of which two ended at the tie-break, the players are taking advantage of this week to get their energy level back where it should be. This tour de force had started really well with a win over Santa Croce but ended with the first defeat of the season against Isernia. Still, Bologna did not take advantage and Bassano is now sole leader of the A2 league.

There has been some controversy about the Isernia loss but coach Cretu is not the least worried “Considering that Isernia had a good game without thinking of the rest – he explained – we have lost our way. I don’t want our opponent’s good performance to be an excuse for my boys because if we look at the stats we just have to do a ‘mea culpa’. It’s not so much our mistakes, because they did some too, but our attitude: we lacked patience, that is to say the composure to play the way we know how to”.
