Bonitta is new coach

Marco Bonitta, 45 years old from Ravenna, has been appointed Martina Franca’s new coach. Chairman Bongiovanni bet on Bonita’s will to work in the men’s elite league. In feminine volleyball, Bonita is already considered as one of the greats, leading the Italian national team to a historic World Championship triumph in 2002. On Italy’s bench, he coached 255 games, and won 169 of them. He also won two silver medals in the European Championships 2001 and 2005. In 2006-07, he had a brief spell in the men’s second division at Cavriago before taking over as the coach of the feminine Polish national team, with whom he finished 9th in Beijing’s Olympic Games.
