The regular season has been a great success in terms of crowd: the 2008-09 season has been the most popular with 462.951 spectators. The first two rounds of the playoffs confirmed this increase of interest.
73.546 presences were registered in the 22 games played in the quarter finals and semi finals. This represents an average of 3.343 spectators per game: an unbelievable increase of 5.9% compared to last season.
Given the result of the league final game 1 between Trentino and Gioia, this positive trend should be continuing. The work done to enlarge the stands of the PalaTrento gym allowed more fans to attend the great show that the two finalists offered.
OVER 5.000 – The 5.000 mark has been reached twice: in the quarter final game 2 between Cuneo and Montichiari (5.447) and in the semi final game 5 between Macerata and Piacenza (5.026).

MARSHALL SEMI FINAL MVP
Leonel Marshall was nominated MVP of the semi finals. Thanks to the votes he gathered in Game 3 and 5 of its semi final against Macerata, in which he was crucial for his team, he collected his second MVP award of the season (the first came in December). The Cuban spiker will receive his award on Thursday night in Piacenza before game 2 of the final.
