1 game in hand: Yoga Forlì

RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia – Sisley Treviso

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 22 (18-4 Treviso)

Andrea Sartoretti (RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia): “Treviso has put together six consecutive wins. They are full of confidence. It has an unpredictable setter. It will be a very tough game. We have to defend well on their spikers and hit the serve hard. I’m expecting a real battle. I don’t want to see a performance like the one we had the first time we met this season, we just hadn’t played. Treviso and Verona were our worst games in the first half of championship”.

Roberto Piazza (Sisley Treviso): “Very difficult game, they are playing very well, they have had excellent performances recently and have quite a few quality spikers, which make them unpredictable and not easy to face, especially when they play home. We are doing rather well right now, we’re going to Perugia with Fei doubtful, but I already said last Sunday that we have 8 starters, so If Fox was not to make it, we’d be ready anyway”.

Trenkwalder Modena – Marmi Lanza Verona

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 11 (9-2 Modena)

Marco Cosimo Piscopo (Trenkwalder Modena): “Verona has had ups and downs so far. On its day, it can beat anyone. We want to get back on track and show the spirit we had in Macerata, which characterised our first half of championship. It’s still tight in the table, a good result could help us to stay high up”.

Robert Kromm (Marmi Lanza Verona): “It will be an opportunity to grab more points. This is undeniably a very strong team, we’ll have to serve well and be disciplined in attack and reception. Their setter is excellent and has the team under control. We have learned from our defeat against Cuneo, hopefully we’ll get right back on track”.

Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto – Lube Banca Marche Macerata

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 3 (Macerata won them all)

Henrique Ronaldo (Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto): “We’re facing one of the favourites of the league, a tough game. But we have the right motivation to face any opponent: we’ll get on court to give it our best shot, give 110% without thinking that there is Macerata on the other side of the net, with the will to offer our fans a great performance  to finish 2009 on a high”.

Igor Omrcen (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “Our win over Modena was very important, we showed very positive things in terms of level of play and attitude. We still have to improve but we are on the right track. We need to keep doing as we are in Pineto. We’ll need to impose our rhythm right from the start”.

Prisma Taranto – Andreoli Latina

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 13 (8-5 Latina)

Cleber De Oliveira (Prisma Taranto): “We can’t afford to lose against Latina. We have to win at all cost. This is the first of a series of game from which we could benefit, we could move up the table. We need to regain our psycho-physical energy and use it as well as we can. We know our opponent has a few more points than us but we have what it takes to catch them up”.

Gianrio Falivene (Andreoli Latina): “We are playing well but gathering few points. In Taranto, I want to see the team fight and get points. It is fundamental not to stand still. I am surprise to see on the papers teams winning three nil and looking for excuses, to see people having recourse to the law for “human” referee mistakes. Volleyball is also enjoying to spend two days with the chairman Bongiovanni and share the same passion for sport”.

Esse-ti Carilo Loreto – CoprAtlantide Piacenza

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 5 (3-2 Piacenza)

Luca Moretti (Esse-ti Carilo Loreto): “After a period influenced by injuries, Piacenza played Taranto with the full squad. Bravo is back, he’s a fundamental player, he makes it a more balanced team. We are back in our PalaSerenelli gym after the derby against Macerata, hopefully we’ll manage to play a good game this time, to keep it tight and obtain a good result”.

Hristo Zlatanov (CoprAtlantide Piacenza): “This is a crucial game in a gym where it is very tough to win. We’ll need maximum determination to get going and get points for the playoffs. It won’t be easy by any means. They have the support of a whole club, we have to be careful. Right now, we are looking for our best volleyball and consistency in all the competitions”.

Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo – Yoga Forlì

PAST ECNOUNTERS: 9 (7-2 Cuneo)

Hubert Henno (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “It will be a tricky game, we’ll have to stay composed and try to limit our opponent because Forli is capable of taking advantage if we relax. A good attitude is required to put pressure on them from the start and keep Maric under control. He is their main weapon, a big threat on the serve, we’ll try to limit him in attack. They also have excellent players such as Popp and Coscione, we’ll need to watch them”.

Paul Carroll (Yoga Forlì): “We are on the way up, and the rest last weekend allowed us to train properly. We won our last encounter in Vibo Valentia and we’ll soon face Taranto, Pimeto, Latina and Loreto, a crucial run for our season. In Cuneo, we’ll try to play our best volleyball to show we are a good team and try to get something out of it”.
