The Trento gym remains an impossible place to conquer for Vibo Valentia, which had suffered a never-ending trip up north because of the terrible whether conditions. The team arrived in town only this morning at 5.30pm. It is now seven defeats in as many games in Trento. Vibo did rather well in the first set and a half, although it struggled a bit in attack. Attack which on the other hand worked pretty fine for Trento with Kaziyski and Juantorema as unstoppable as ever. Corsini had an excellent game too and was named MVP. The World Champion will spend a happy Christmas as league leaders.
Andrea Bari (Itas Diatec Trentino): “It’s not been a beautiful game but that can happen. We did well to keep focused all the way, although we made a couple of mistakes too many at the start of the second set. We need a bit of rest but let’s enjoy Christmas as league leaders”.
Rocco Barone (Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “We knew we were facing a difficult task tonight. What most disappoints us is not to have sealed the second set, in which we had put ourselves in a good position. If we want to beat opponents such as Trento, we have to play more as a team and give 110%, which we failed to do tonight”.
