Mantova made official its first signing: here comes Thomas Berretta. Born in 1990, the young middleblocker came up in Treviso’s youth ranks. Halfway through last season he made it to the first team, collecting 9 appearances. In 2008, he became Italian Champion Under 18.
“He’s a promising youngster – said Gm Michele Carlone – We belive it to be a good investment – He’s a little younger than our pair of middleblockers of last season: Rossi and Leonardi. These will surely stay in Cuneo and Trento, but hopefully Berretta will have the same positive impact at professional level”.
