Direclty from Washington DC, via Paris to eventually land in Bologna, Matt Anderdon arrived in town this morning and was already in the weight room in the afternoon. Born in 1987, the spiker-receiver won the NCAA title with Penn State in 2008 , played in Korea in 2009-10 before arriving in Italy with Vibo Valentia last season. He has also been part of the US national team since 2009 and he has been one of the best spikers and receivers this summer in the World League.

“It’s true, I played well this summer – said Anderson – The work done last season in Italy with Vibo made me improve and playing a lot with the national team brings me experience and confidence. Many clubs wanted me this summer and I chose Modena for various reasons: its history, because Ball and Lee talked wonders about the club, saying it had a great organisation, because I believe coach Bagnoli and his staff are top quality and also because the team is strong and we can aim high”.
