Gela is getting prepared to play the A2 playout final. It will meet Perugia hoping to win and stay up. Gela will begin the series at 1-0 thanks to their better regular season position.

“Mantova made it difficult but I expected Perugia to go through, they have a top quality squad – said coach Rigano – Their deeper bench allowed them to handle the series better and send on quality players whenever they needed to. Gela had already done well before I arrived but then the results were not coming. Now the players are more aware of the difficulties and we’re finding solutions with each player putting the extra effort in. I think the best moment of the season is still to come, though. This is one of the most beautiful things for a professional sportsman, having it all at stake, playing for it all”.
