Born in 1992 in Chieri, near Turin, Mazzone has been part of the Italian national teams juniors and was at Club Italia for the past two seasons. In 2010-11, he scored 211 points, among which 50 blocks and 11 aces, in 29 games. He kept improving the following year with 218 points, 50 blocks and 11 aces.
