The symbol of this Macerata team that never surrenders is probably Davidson Lampariello, who was key in yesterday’s come-back win in Verona after trailing 2-0 and 24-22 in the third set. Dick Kooy had been lined-up as a starter after only two training sessions with the team before Lampariello took over in the third. He ignited the come-back by scoring the winning point of the third set.

“I have had a bit of luck – said Lampariello – But i was ready when the coach asked me to come on. I know what is my role in this team, I always have to be ready when they need me. It’s true I mainly have characteristics of a libero but if it is necessary I can smash one down”.
