“Spiderman” is a nickname that suits Salvo Scolaro to perfection: he makes spectacular recoveries and unbelievable digs that defies the laws of physics. Born in 1987, Scolaro is the only local boy left in the roster. He had various spells in Brolo: from 2004 to 2006 when the team was promoted in B1, then from 2006-08, and finally after a season in Molfetta he returned in 2010, helping the team win Brescia’s cup final four and the promotion into the A2.
“I took up volleyball for a laugh and look where I’ve arrived now! – said Scolaro – Being the only Sicilian team in the A2, I think this this a privilege for me and Brolo to show our worth at this important level of competition. I am the only one from here, this is a big responsibility but I am proud of it. I will fight for the shirt and for the people that believed in this project and that believed something big could be achieved”.
