Saturday was a day to remember for the Potenza Picena squad with the added taste of revenge. They defeated Atripalda at the tie-break and can now forget about the frustration of the points lost when the two teams met earlier in the season. Among the main architects of this first road victory, together with the usual Mercorio, there was outside hitter Della Corte, top scorer with 33 points, and Zamponi who seemed rejuvenated and who’s always there when it gets tough.
“We really needed a performance like that – said Della Corte – At the beginning of the week, I asked for more court time, destiny gave me my chance and I took it on the bounce. I have always worked hard and it paid off. I am regaining confidence now thanks to the ever growing understanding with the setters”.
