Italy won the Est Est Est tournament which took place in Montefiascone, Italy. The team coached by Andrea Giani, and in which there was Verona libero Nicola Pesaresi, defeated first Tunisia and then Egypt (3-1). This event was part of the preparation for the Mediterranean Games.
