2012 has been very kind to Marko Podrascanin: he not only won the Volleyball Globe as best middle blocker in the world but also won the Italian league title with Macerata and the award of best player of Serbia. The latest acknowledgement is particularly prestigious as it had always been given either to Miljkovic or Grbic in the past ten years.
“There are some awards that can only please you – said Podrascanin – Especially when it’s the fans that are voting. I have to thank all the people who thought about me. Individual award must be taken for what they really are, though. In the career of an athlete, what really matters is winning trophies with the team. These are the only one that remain in the history. That’s why I hope to be able to repeat last year’s thrilling end of season with Macerata”.
