Volley Market 2014: opening day over

The first day of the Volley Market is behind us. All 13 clubs of the SuperLega UnipolSai and the 12 clubs of the Serie A2 UnipolSai were present in Bentivoglio’s Zanhotel Centergross to either complete or define their final roster and coaching staff to compete in the 70th Serie A Championship UnipolSai.

A couple of the moves that marked the day are the ones of former Cuneo player Manuel Coscione signing for Verona, and spiker Leonardo Puliti, who shined in Monza’s promotion in the A1, going to Molfetta.

There was a lot of action coming from the Serie A2 UnipolSai: Vibo took Alessandro Paoli on board, a middle blocker who helped Padova win the A2 league; while last season’s playoffs finalists, Cantù, added setter setter Michele Groppi. Four A2 teams have already completed their roster: Ortona, Cantù, Castellana Grotte and Reggio Emilia.

The season’s fixture lists will be unveiled on Friday July 25 on the last day of the Volley Market.
