Matera played some fine volleyball against a SuperLega team like Molfetta, who eventually won the third edition of the “Gigi Liguori” memorial. Mastrangelo had got off to the better start by taking the first set and leading early in the second but Molfetta reacted and took charge from that point on.
“I am satisfied with the performance of the boys – said coach Mastrangelo – I think the first 40 minutes were played at an excellent level, not especially because we won the set but because we played very well. I’m a bit disappointed with the loss of focus in the second set when the opponents protested for points going our way”.
