Molfetta and Città di Castello gave it a real fight in the quarter-final game 1 of the playoffs for fifth place. Both sides showed they firmly intended to go through to the next phase of this competition. Molfetta came out on top at the tie-break, Città di Castello will therefore need to win 3-0 or 3-1 to go through to the next phase. A 3-2 victory would lead to a golden set.
“Just as expected this was a hard-fought game – said coach Radici – There were many substitutions which explains that it unfolded in a rather atypical manner. We obtained a result that totally keeps our hopes of qualifying alive. But we know we could have done better with our initial lead but Molfetta, starting from its serve, proved it had everything needed to make it hard for us”.
