Verona has drawn the Portuguese of Fonte Bastardo Azores in the Challenge Cup second round. The first leg will be played in Italy between the 10 and 12 November, while the return leg will be a week later. In the following round, the 16th of finals, the teams going through will take on the losers of the CEV Cup first round. If Verona goes through, they will meet the loser of Zwolle (Netherland) and Lausanne (Switzerland).

“Each team deserve maximum respect, an important thing will be the attitude we’ll have for each game – said coach Giani – Playing a European cup is a totally new experience. This puts Verona on the map and this is an important experience for the players. This participation in the Challenge Cup is a good step forward, our fans will be able to enjoy a different show from the SuperLega. We will have less time to prepare each game but this new challenge is extremely exciting”.
