It’s really been an unforgettable summer for Simone Giannelli. In just a few months, the young Trentino setter overcame the A Levels in High School, passed his driving license, made his debut in the Italian national team and obtained qualification for the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio thanks to the second place gathered in the World Cup in Japan.

“I have reached so many goals in just a few months – he said as he’s briefly back in his home town of Bolzano before getting back with the Italian national team – I couldn’t be more pleased, but I’m already looking ahead, that’s the way I am. I’ve had an unforgettable and incredible summer, but in a few weeks we’ll be in the European Championships and we know we still have a lot of work to do to achieve an important result. As for Trento, there has been a lot of changes but I am sure that with dedication in the gym we will be able to do well. This season, starting with the Super Cup in Modena on October 24, I’ll probably have more responsibility on my shoulders but it’s a good thing too”.
