Del Monte® Italian Cup – Del Monte® Volley Land
SuperLega final four: Captain’s interview

We’ve reached the eve of the Del Monte® Italian Cup SuperLega Final Four to take place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 in Assago’s Mediolanum forum. The semi-finals will put face to face Modena and Perugia first, then Civitanova and Trentino. Besides the SuperLega final, there will also be the Serie A2 cup final on Sunday.

Let’s hear what the captains have to say before their semi-finals:

1st semi-final

Bruno Mossa De Rezende (DHL Modena): “We couldn’t be more motivated for this second trophy of the season. We’re ready to defend our title, we really want to make it. In Milan, there will be four teams that have been shining in this first half of season, four great rosters and any of them can win it. We will give everything we’ve got, with maximum respect for everyone but no fear of anyone”.

Simone Buti (Sir Safety Conad Perugia): “We’re facing a very important semi-final against an extremely strong Modena team. They showed how good they were by being top of the league. This will definitely be a very difficult game. Modena has so many strengths, like the serve, the fantasy and efficiency of their setter and spikers. We’ll need to leave it all out on the floor, we’ll also have to study carefully everything tactically in order to stop them and play a good game. Our goal is to go to Milan and try our best to play the last game scheduled on Sunday. The obligatory step before that is to earn that spot in the final. We will get on the bus with that spirit”.

2nd semi-final

Ivan Miljkovic (Cucine Lube Banca Marche Civitanova): “This will be a very tight final four. The four teams taking part are very strong, only few details will make the difference. We’ll be up against Trentino in the semis, we know them well. In the league it turned out to be a very tight encounter, and it will be the same in the Italian Cup. We want to take revenge on that defeat conceded in the PalaTrento arena. We’re ready and focused for the first big event of the season. There’s a trophy at stake and we will give it our best shot”.

Filippo Lanza (Diatec Trentino): “This Italian Cup final four will be a special and important moment for us. We want to enjoy every minute of it. We’re not the favourite but Trentino has a great tradition in the cup and we want to bring some life back into this tradition. In the semi-final, we’ll face Civitanova, who’s definitely more experienced and stronger than us as the standings clearly show. But we’re young and we want to go all out to get a result. Show time guaranteed, and we’re ready to give it all”.
