The Italian spiker with Czech origins, Jiri Kovar, will play his sixth season with Civitanova. Born in 1989, he was sidelined for a lengthy period last season because of an injury in March 2015. Before that, however, he had a lot of success, helping the club win the league title in 2012 and 2014.
“Hopefully, I’ll be able to play with consistency again – said Kovar who’s been working all summer in the gym to be ready – I really want to help the team as much as I can. If I could I’d start now, I can’t wait to play in this new Civitanova team that is being put together. We will do our very best to do better than in the past two years. We’ll have four targets, and we’ll try to reach as many as possible. We have a strong team full of stars who can make the difference any given night. This is definitely a very exciting new challenge that we have ahead”.
