Padova found its missing middle blocker with Danijel Koncilja. Born in 1990, the Slovenian international played the last three seasons in Austria and took part in the CEV Cup. He won the gold medal at the European League 2015 and the silver medal at the European Championships that same year with Slovenia. He also took part in the World League this summer with the team coached by Andrea Giani. He scored a total of 48 points in the competition (13 blocks, 5 aces)
