Verona announced the two-year signing of Mitar Djuric. Born in 1989, the Outside hitter played this season for Trento, where he collected 39 appearances and 595 points. He helped his club reach the Champions League final and the league semi-final. He was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, but has the Greek passport.

“I am thrilled to join Verona – said Djuric – I am extremely motivated by this new challenge. I talked to coach Andrea Giani in the last few days and with sport director Andrea Marchesi, they told me about the project of the club, where they want to go. I talked as well to players who worked with coach Giani, and they told me a lot of good, which helped take my decision”.

Djuric has already won so much in his career: two World Club Championships, two Italian Leagues (2013-2015), one Turkish League (2014), 3 Greek leagues (2009-2010-2011), one Turkish cup (2014), 2 Greek Cups (2009 and 2011), one Italian Super Cup (2011), 2 Italian cups (2012-2013), 2 Greek Super Cups (2010-2011) and one Turkish super cup (2013). He also collected two silver medals with his national team: in the Balkan Championships and the European League 2014.
