Unipolsai Playoff Challenge Quarterfinals Game 3 in Verona, with Calzedonia who faced Biosì Indexa Sora at Agsm Forum, in front of warm Calzedonia’s fans. A no tomorrow game for Sora, down 0-2 in the series, after two close losses, both at tie break. A good start for Coach Colucci’s team, in front 18-12, winning the first set 25-22 with a great offensive performance by all the spikers. Also in the second Sora put on the court some good volleyball, despite a good start of Verona, who took the lead on 7-4. Gotsev had a bunch of great spikes, driving Biosì Indexa Sora to the 25-23 win. With Sora in front 2 sets to nothing, Verona fought back hard in third, winnning clearly 25-17, and earning the win also in fourth, with a great pffensive performance by Mvp Uros Kovacevic, who finished the game with 28 points. Once again at tie break in this series Verona dominated, starting 4-1, continuing 10-5, and winning 15-10, clinching the Playoff Challenge Final Four spot. A good series played by Sora, who lost all the games at the tie break, after being in front in all the three games. In the end a great season for Coach Colucci’s team.
Nikola Grbic (Calzedonia Verona): “It was a tough game. We knew it would be a big battle, despite the absence of Rosso, an important player for them. It has been a long long series, we suffered alot, but every time we stayed focused, and on today we came back for the win”.
Svetoslav Gotsev (Biosì Indexa Sora): “We wanted to win this game, we played at our best without pressure and with mind clear. We served well in first set, then we lost power also thanks to Verona, who grew up during the game. With this win they showed their great strength”.
