Top Volley came back in the series and won PlayOff Challenge Eighth Finals Game 3 on the home turf versus Revivre Milano. Latina will face Lpr Piacenza in Quarterfinals, starting next sunday 26th march. Latina played as a team, coming back in the tough moment of the game. After losing first set 23-25, Daniele Bagnoli’s team fought back, with Maruotti and Klinkenberg on the court, who did a good job down the net, helping Latina winning second set at the extras 29-27. In third Latina had a great 9-3 start, with Carmelo Gitto and Alessandro Fei in great shape, taking the big lead on 15-6 and winning the set 25-16. In fourth Milano fought back taking the lead on 11-7 Sbertoli, Skrimov and Hoag, but Top Volley reacted with Ishikawa and Kinkenberg, coming back with a big break, taking the lead on 17-12, winning the set 25-21 and clinching the quarterfinal’s spot.
Danilo Cortina (Revivre Milano): “Latina had something more to give, they played as a team, with great individualities as Alessandro Fei. We lost the chance to close the series last sunday at home”.
Carmelo Gitto (Top Volley Latina): “We were nervous in the beginning, then we stepped up with determination. Third set was fundamental. Now we’ll face Piacenza, we have to give our best if we want to reach semifinals”.
