Ivan Zaytsev was protagonist in Latina with 18 points and some key plays: “this is an important win, we had a powerful serve in first, second and fourth set. It was great to play at sold out PalaBianchini, they are strong on the home turf. We have to gain confidence, we have to remember that when we win, it’s all because of us, because we played a great game”.
It was a sold out at PalaBianchini in 24th round Unipolsai Superleague for the game between Top Volley Latina and Sir Safety Conad Perugia. And it was a great show. It was a battle, with Perugia who earned three points good to stay in second place of the standings, tied with Diatec Trentino. The starters for coach Lorenzo Bernardi were De Cecco, Atanasijevic, Podrascanin, Birarelli, Russell and Zaytsev, with Tosi libero.
For Daniele Bagnoli the starters were Sottile, Fei, Rossi, Gitto, Ishikawa, Maruotti, with Fanuli libero. A good start for Perugia with a bunch of great serves by Atanasijevic, Zaytsev and Podrascanin, closing the set 25-18. A good start for Latina in the second, but with Zaytsev in the fundamental of serve Sir Safety overcome Latina at 14-9, winning also the second set 25-18. It seemed finished, but Latina fought back in the third, keeping a thin lead until the extras, winning the set with Marui¨¬otti at 27-25. Enthusiasm at PalaBianchini, but in the fourth Perugia grabbed the win, despite a great set played by Top Volley who surrended at 23-25

Lorenzo Bernardi (Sir Safety Conad Perugia): ” I feared this game, but in the end we grabbed the win. I expected a tough game, they are healthy now, but we put on the ground some good serves, probabily we have to work down the net. Penchev played a great game”.
