Alessio Fontani is a boy from the Emma Villas Volley youth sector who has had the opportunity to train many times with the first biancoblu team that is competing in the Super League championship. Born in Siena in 2006, he divides his time between sport and school: he is in fact attending the third year of the Galilei scientific high school. And he does a lot of training and plays a lot of volleyball games: “I train every day and play 2-3 matches a week”. Suddenly he found himself in many different contexts: last summer with the Tuscan representative, at the start of the season every day then training with the first Sienese team led by coach Paolo Montagnani. “And I am very pleased – says Fontani – also for the call-up I received for the championship match against Perugia. It was a real honor for me ”.
Fontani takes part in three championships with the Emma Villas formations: that of Serie D, that of Under 19 and that of Under 17. This is a way to accumulate as much experience as possible, to know different contexts and therefore to grow and to improve. “The level also in the youth sector has risen – he says. – We are all improving a bit and this is certainly a very positive aspect for the entire Sienese context. The training with the first team has been wonderful, although certainly very tiring. I met great champions, they gave me a lot of satisfaction. The advice I received for example from Daniele Mazzone and Federico Bonami I carry and jealously guard them in the hope of treasuring them ”.
Fontani’s growth was sudden. Also because the 16 year old approached the youth sector not so long: “I started in 2019, when I was 13 – he says. – I approached volleyball thanks to some friends. Previously I watched the games on television, I already liked this sport and got even more passionate about it. So I decided to try and things are going well. My dream is to be able one day to make my debut in Serie A. I really hope that Emma Villas Aubay Siena will be able to reach the goal of salvation in the Super League ”.
