There were eight athletes on the red and white roster with their respective national teams at the start of the 2022 World Cup and after the first phase they are all still in the race. From Saturday 3 September they will be involved in the second round of the world championship event. Dry race, whoever wins is in the quarterfinals, whoever loses closes his world championship adventure.

The red and white derby between Italy and Cuba that will be played on Saturday 3 September at 9.15 pm in Ljubljana: the three Azzurri of Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza, the free Leonardo Scanferla, the opposite Yuri Romanò and the spiker Francesco Recine will face the central Robertlandy Simon who will wear the Piacenza shirt next season.

The setter Antoine Brizard, captain of Gas Sales Bluneregy Volley Piacenza, will lead the France of coach Andrea Giani against Japan: match scheduled in Ljubljana on 5 September at 21.00.

And again on 5 September, starting at 5.30 pm in Ljubljana, the new red and white setter Freek De Weijer and his Netherlands, led by Roberto Piazza, will face Ukraine in a not impossible round of 16.

Spikers Ricardo Lucarelli Santos De Souza and Yoandy Leal with Brazil will take the field on 6 September at 21.00 in Gliwice to face Iran with an eye to the quarter-finals.
