The italian national team captain Marco Falaschi, former captain of the rossoblù, returns with a prestigious bronze from the Mediterranean Games.

But let’s retrace all the stages of this Italian summer that saw Marco conquer the third step on the podium in Oran, Algeria, home of the Mediterranean Games.

The first blue call had already arrived at the beginning of May, together with the other 3 rossoblù players: Gironi, Stefani and, a few days later, also the gentle giant Di Martino.

Four rossoblù athletes who with pride and satisfaction of the Prisma Presidency and under the eyes of Mr. Di Pinto, who saw them grow day after day under his skilful wing, thus reached Cavalese for the collegiate of Mister De Giorgi.

From there, after weeks of preparation, a group, with Falaschi and Gironi left for Ottawa in Canada, to compete in the first stage of VNL, at the beginning of June.

The Azzurri played an excellent first phase of VNL and on their return Marco continued the collegiate in Cavalese, before learning of the call-up for Oran, in Algeria, together with Gironi and Di Martino, to play the Mediterranean Games a few more weeks. late.

In Oran the Azzurri led by Marco Falaschi collect numerous clear victories, and reach the semifinals on Saturday 2 July beating Turkey in the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, Croatia turns out to be too difficult an opponent and Italy is forced to give way by losing 3-1 after almost two and a half hours of match.

But without giving up, under the charge and leadership of the captain, with a group on the field unleashed in the role of the opposite, the Azzurri national team beat France 3-1 with a heart-pounding match and won the bronze medal.

Captain, tell us your emotions in Oran after the conquest of the third step of the podium:

They were positive sensations, I come back with a great satisfaction because in any case, as it went towards the end of the sporting event, winning a bronze is always better than returning empty-handed.

I was very happy, proud and proud to have been the captain of this expedition and above all, as I had already told them, personally I was very sorry after the defeat in the semifinals against Croatia, who then won the games. The boys, however, deserved a little more and having conquered the bronze on the field against France was a proof, in short, that the group really deserved something great for the path made”.
