Tomorrow starting at 6 pm Emma Villas Aubay Siena will play another friendly match of their pre-season: at the Estra Forum in Chiusi the Sienese will face Grottazzolina, a newly promoted team in Serie A2 that the team of coach Paolo Montagnani has already challenged in one circumstance in the course of this pre-season (Siena won for three sets to one).
It will be a week full of commitments for Emma Villas Aubay Siena, which over the weekend will be involved in the quadrangular “Team spirit” in Gubbio together with the Bulgarian team of the Hebar Volleyball Club, the Prisma Taranto and the Top Volley Cisterna. It is therefore an important tournament that will be able to give significant answers, given that the Sienese will be involved in a competition that sees two other Superlega teams participating, one week before the start of the championship. The team of coach Paolo Montagnani will play against the Bulgarians of the Volleyball Club Hebar in the first semifinal on Saturday, which will be played at 3 pm. Sunday 25 September, on the other hand, at 3 pm the final for the third place of the competition will be played at 18 instead the final for the first place will be held.
Last Saturday, however, Siena played at the PalaBarton in Perugia against Sir Safety Susa of Leon and his teammates: 3-1 the final result of the friendly match in favor of the Umbrian team. “We got positive feelings from the test match against Perugia – commented after the friendly match at PalaBarton, Fabio Ricci, Emma Villas Aubay’s middle blocker. – Apart from the first set, in which we immediately took a very long break in the other three sets, we played it point by point. Then we won the second, while the others didn’t, but we were in the game. We could have done better, but let’s try to take the positive aspects ”.
“We still have to work on many aspects – said Fabio Ricci. – We can grow in reception, in attack, we can be more precise on the block and more present in defense. We have a lot of room for improvement. The positive things about this friendly match are found in the fact that we have always stayed in the game, we never gave up ”.
