We are world champions for the fourth time in history! The Italvolley of the red and white Simone Anzani, Fabio Balaso and Mattia Bottolo overcame in four sets (25-22, 21-25, 18-25, 20-25) the hosts of Poland in Katowice in the final of the 2022 World Cup and is returned to celebrate the world title after 24 years. The Azzurri were stronger than their opponents and the spectacular support, incessant but always correct, of the Polish human wall in the stands.

Already European champions, the boys of Fefè De Giorgi, after an exciting journey in the group and in the direct matches, in the showdown they threw the first set to the winds in the last exchanges, but they managed to keep calm and rebuilt the own certainties at the service. The compactness of the group was essential, the miracles of Balaso, author of sensational rescues, and the plays of Anzani, on the piece for all partials and protagonist of a sumptuous match, were providential. Bottolo, who like the rest of the group, deserves the honors of an indelible exploit, is fundamental in the preparation of matches to maintain a high level in training!

The greeting of a moved Simone Anzani with a special dedication to his uncle, who recently passed away, is moving. In the interviews after the victory, the thanks of the Cucine Lube Civitanova plant were also immediate to an “extraordinary group that fought in unison to achieve this result!”.
