FABIO SOLI (Itas Trentino)

The one in Biella will be Fabio Soli’s first ever Super Cup as Head Coach. The Emilian coach will experience it, among other things, with the ranks of the number one seed, which is assigned to the winner of the Scudetto of the current calendar year. His Itas Trentino will return in search of a trophy that it has already won three times in fourteen participations and will face its recent past in terms of technical guidance in the Semifinal: Angelo Lorenzetti, who among the technicians present is the one who has played the most .

“The Final Four of the Del Monte® Supercoppa is a great event, which arrives very soon, as per tradition, and which we want to experience to the fullest, knowing full well that we will face Perugia, the team that in my opinion is by far the best equipped in the championship . We arrive in Biella with the sensations and indications of two significant meetings very similar to each other, which highlighted a very positive group spirit; the team faced difficulties, always knowing how to get out of them and accepting their imperfection. During the two matches we played individual sets that were very different from each other, which demonstrated our potential but also the current limitations we have. I prefer to see the glass half full and I appreciate the spirit we have shown up to now, because to win a match like the one that awaits us on Tuesday we will need to play good volleyball but also be a real team, when things don’t go the way we want.”

ANDREA ANASTASI (Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza)

This is his third participation in the Del Monte® Supercoppa and his first time on the Piacenza bench. After many seasons of experience on the bench around Europe between clubs and national teams with many trophies in his cabinet including a Super Cup won in Poland with Trefl Sopot Gdansk, Andrea Anastasi, who returned to coaching in Italy last season in Perugia, presents itself for the second consecutive year at the final stage of the Del Monte® Supercoppa. The first time was the final played on 12 October 2004 and lost to Brebanca Lannutti Cuneo, the second last season at the helm of Perugia and now with Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza who won the chance to play this trophy thanks to the victory a few months ago of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia.

“It will be a slightly complicated Super Cup for all the teams that have recently welcomed national team players, it is inevitable that there will be a lot of tiredness in these guys. In my opinion this competition arrives a little too early in this season but there were no other dates and therefore we have to accept this moment.

GIANLORENZO BLENGINI (Cucine Lube Civitanova)

Fresh from two consecutive Scudetti and the dream of the third in a row dashed in Game 5 of the Italian Final, Chicco Blengini also boasts in his Palmares the Credem Banca Super League title and the Del Monte® Italian Cup dating back to his first cycle on the Lube bench. The red and white coach is chasing the right alchemy of a group that has been further rejuvenated over the summer, preserving quality and with the ambition of increasing concreteness. One year after the Del Monte® Supercoppa faded in Sardinia at the tie break of the Final, the red and white coach tries again in his Piedmont and aims for his first personal triumph in the early season event (fourth participation) to make a path studded with successes.

“The first trophy of the season is upon us and sees four well-equipped teams competing who want to perform well and aspire to achieve their objective. We are still at the beginning and this event will not indicate the absolute values or the potential of the individual teams in the 2023/24 season, but it is a stimulating event and it is nice to be able to participate because other worthy rivals have failed to qualify. This gives us the measure of what good we achieved in the past season to gain the pass and benefit from the chance.

ANGELO LORENZETTI (Sir Susa Vim Perugia)
