Game 4 of the Finale Scudetto is upon us with the Italian champions backed to the wall, but DG Beppe Cormio believes in the internal enterprise. On Friday 12 May, at 8.30 pm, Cucine Lube Civitanova will have to defeat Itas Trentino at the Eurosuole Forum with the support of 4,000 fans to even the score at 2-2 and prevent the Gialloblù from winning the Marche title. The eventual match would be played on Wednesday 17 May (8.30 pm) at the BLM Group Arena, the headquarters of the Dolomites.

Beppe Cormio, in what state of mind are Lube approaching the match?

“We are talking about a decisive match in a final series. With a defeat we would be goodbye, so it is clear that we will have to have the state of mind of someone who, once again on the edge of a precipice, must find his balance by winning the challenge and earning the opportunity to play Game 5 in Trentino. We are ready and determined, but at the same time serene and calm. By making it to the Scudetto Final we have achieved a goal that no one would have predicted, but we are not satisfied. We want to impose ourselves and return to Trento”.

Both teams suffered major injuries in the series.

“The two situations are different. Lisinac’s injury and, in general, the defections of central players, require the technicians to make a substitution and thus resolve themselves. Among other things, D’Heer has shown that he is worth a starting shirt. Zaytsev’s problem, on the other hand, immediately put the organizational machine in difficulty on the ground by distorting the system adopted by Lube. Having said that, we have also started with other game modules that are tested in these few training sessions. We will find the best solution and we are convinced that we will have the same opportunities and chances to win the match with or without Ivan. We don’t beat ourselves up, if anything we worry about safeguarding an important player like him. It doesn’t reflect our mentality to send an athlete with a serious problem onto the field if he has to rest”.
