Almost a month after the last home game, the lights of the PalaFrancescucci will turn on again on Sunday 12 March, and for the first time in 2023 they will do so at the standard time of 6.00 pm. Pool Libertas Cantù’s opponent will be Conad Reggio Emilia, which last season achieved the historic DelMonte® Coppa Italia double – promotion to the Superlega. In this championship, however, many difficulties for Coach Fabio Fanuli’s boys, who come from eight consecutive defeats – the only victory in the second round for the Reggio players was in the match on Boxing Day against HRK Motta of Livenza.

Coach Francesco Denora presents the challenge thus: “Finally we return to play at home and after a long time at the classic time of 18.00: let’s hope that the latest results bring in a lot of fans. It would be nice for society, for the environment, and for these guys who deserve it. We will do our best to continue the positive trend. As the end of the regular season approaches, the teams fighting for salvation are the most dangerous, because they see every game that remains as a final. The guard must be high, and we must be good at imposing our game immediately. However, they are a team with talented elements that can bring out an important performance. We have to pay attention to their serve: the last match teaches us that whoever wants to put us in trouble will have to push hard on this fundamental. During the week we worked on these details in order to be able to improve further in performance”.
