The season of Cucine Lube Civitanova in SuperLega Credem Banca ended on the second step of the podium among many compliments for the tenacity and progress in the game. The applause of the club goes to the athletes and staff with a special note of merit to Gianlorenzo Blengini, architect of the change of course. The break from ranks came the day after Race 5 of the Scudetto Finale. Until the very end, the cooking environment hoped to see yet another joyful embrace between the general manager of the Club and the coach, an iconic scene that had closed the previous two seasons. The 2022/23 season ended instead with defeat in the decisive challenge for the title. The sense of bitterness gradually rarefied in the following hours, while the perception of having achieved something great became clearer, which only a few months earlier seemed unthinkable given the rejuvenation and revolution of the roster.

Meanwhile, general manager Beppe Cormio is designing the Lube of the future together with the Piedmontese coach, who still has a year on his contract with the Italian vice-champions and will be able to count on targeted additions. Cormio wastes no time: “The SuperLega Credem Banca tournament has just ended, but these are not days of relaxation for us – he explains -. As is the logic of things, we continue to work also addressing issues for next season together with our technical guide, with whom there is a great feeling. With Chicco I have already won three Scudetti, this year our coach led the team up to Game 5 of the showdown for the Italian title with many personal merits. The goal is to guarantee him an increasingly competitive team to shine in the league and in the cups”.
