The first reconfirmation arrives: Volley Tricolore starts from the coach and gives full confidence to Fabio Fanuli for the position of first coach in the 2023/2024 season. Fanuli, originally from Puglia, started coaching after retiring from the SuperLega in 2021 in Reggio Emilia. During his second year as second coach he found himself having to fill the role of head coach with the full trust of the club, the work done meant that the conditions were created for the upcoming season.

“I am very happy and grateful for the assignment. – he confesses – I live it with a great sense of responsibility because Reggio is a historic and important place in the panorama of Italian volleyball. I hope to be up to the task, I know it will be difficult, because difficulties are part of a high level; however, I believe that working as a team, with humility, a spirit of sacrifice and constancy, no obstacle is insurmountable”.

Fanuli comes from two diametrically opposed seasons: in the first he won two historic titles for the club, while in the second he worked to save the team from relegation. “I think there are multiple goals in a season. Each player must have fundamental targets, and we as a staff must be good at providing them with the support and tools necessary to achieve them. We will also have to bring everything together in a good team effort to be able to offer a pleasant show to our audience on Sunday”.

The market in the world of volleyball hasn’t stopped yet, the Italian roster is still being defined, but Fanuli is satisfied with the Reggio Emilia transfer campaign: “I’m happy with the group that is taking shape. We are working with the club to build a group of guys who want to make themselves available and work hard in the gym, the prerogative of every self-respecting team”.

The general manager Loris Migliari underlines the esteem placed towards the coach: “The choice to entrust this task to Fabio was natural, it is certainly not a stopgap; we have never stopped working with him for the upcoming season, as it was obvious for the company that we would continue together. We were extremely happy with his work, we are in agreement with what the projects are, and therefore the choice to hand over the management of the team to him has never been questioned”.
