At the presentation of the 2023/24 Championships that took place yesterday in Bologna at the end of the Volley Market, the location of the Men’s A2 Italian Cup Final Four was also made official; Cuneo will host the most important cup in the category.
Cuneo Volley, in the person of the president Gabriele Costamagna, had presented its willingness to become co-organizers of the event, giving the City of Cuneo the opportunity to become the stage for Italian men’s volleyball. The request was approved by the Serie A Volleyball League and made official on 11-12 May 2024.
« The Final Four in Cuneo is an event that we have been wanting to organize for some time. The financial investment of the CRC Foundation together with the Municipality of Cuneo in the acoustic redevelopment of our building has further prompted us to propose the candidacy to give the city a great event. It will have to be an event first and foremost for A2, to make an increasingly competitive championship known and appreciated in which my fellow Presidents are investing more and more economic resources. We have already started working on it, I would like it to become a celebration for the category, obviously hoping that Cuneo will also be among the four finalists.» – Gabriele Costamagna President of Cuneo Volley.
Let’s take a look specifically at the Formula of the Coppa Italia A2:
• The teams classified from 8th to 12th place at the end of the Regular Season, together with those eliminated from the quarterfinals of the Play Off Promotion, will play the Round of 16 (2 wins out of 3).
The 4 winners will compete in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup with the 4 semi-finalists of the Promotion Play Offs (2 matches with Golden Set).
The 4 winners of the Italian Cup quarter-finals will participate in the Final Four in Cuneo on 11-12 May 2024.
