It will be a Championship that will not be forgotten and that will forever enter the history of Sicilian volleyball, the one that has been hungry for SuperLega for almost 30 years. The 79th SuperLega Credem Banca 2023/24 Men’s Volleyball Championship for Farmitalia Saturnia will begin on 22 October 2023, when the Sicilian players, in the new formation under the orders of coach Waldo Kantor, will take the field against Sir Susa Vim Perugia for the debut of the season in the top Italian volleyball championship, which is internationally recognized as the best championship in the world. The first match at PalaCatania is scheduled for 29 October 2023 against Cisterna Volley.
In the afternoon today, Thursday 13 July 2023, the three days of the Volley Market ended which kicked off last 11 July at the Zanhotel & Meeting Centergross in Bentivoglio (Bologna) with the Presentation of the 2023/24 Calendars, at which the Saturnia participated with the presence of the president Luigi Pulvirenti, the general manager Enzo Pulvirenti, the sports director Piero D’Angelo and the team manager Cesare Gradi. Three days for the final registrations of the players, for consultations, marketing and communication workshops, three days in which the representatives of the 54 clubs that are part of the Serie A Volleyball League shared experiences and news concerning them. For Saturnia it was also an opportunity to receive the prize for promotion to A2 won in the match against Casarano on 22 May, thus leaving for Catania with an important trophy to keep among the memories of a club that started the his sporting career almost sixty years ago.
Going back to the calendar, in addition to the first match, the whole time table has been revealed that will see the blue and whites engaged from October and for the next few months, with the announcement of the round-trip matches of the regular season. The calendar therefore kicks off on 22 October and defines the 22 days of the regular season which will end on 3 March 2024. The season will be close, tough and unpredictable, with matches on the weekend and midweek shifts, with matches that will make the blue and white move from from one end of Italy to the other, with a match that will also be played on December 26, but with the certainty of giving Sicilian supporters an unforgettable season.
