Vincenzo Franciosa, born in Bari on 18 July 1940, has been one of the pillars of the Ionian club since his return to Serie A in 2020.

After the war he arrives in Taranto, he graduates from the Industrial Institute. He worked for 35 years of service at Enel, and has been retired since 2001.

Today he holds the role of hospitality and logistics manager of the PalaMazzola, i.e. he dedicates all his free time taking care of everything concerning the public during the events, the organization of the playing field, and is present during the midweek training sessions, making sure that everything is fully functional and available to the technical staff.

During matches, he organizes the presence of the ambulance and makes sure that everything is in order.

For all “Enzo”, or even “the candy man”: as is customary for those who manage any self-respecting hospitality, Enzo always has a smile and a candy to offer to anyone who arrives at the PalaMazzola, and precisely for this was awarded this official task, for his predisposition to kindness and public relations.

However, Enzo Franciosa’s duties are not limited to the location of the PalaMazzola; in these days it has also been activated for the lodgings of the players who will reach Taranto at the end of August, verifying that everything is in order or having what needs to be renovated sorted out, always in constant updating and relationship with the Presidency and the management of Gioiella Prisma.

In fact, a close friendship binds Enzo Franciosa to the top management of the rossoblù club.

“I have known lawyer Bongiovanni and the Vice President Zelatore for many years, I have been with them for 15 years and I have helped them since their football days – declares Franciosa – we spend many hours together for one reason or another, and I had way of forging a solid relationship that has lasted over time due to the mutual respect and affection that binds us. Together we have faced many adventures and many storms and we have always come out of them thanks to the passion for sport and friendship. I spent some really intense moments with them, they know they can count on me for anything. Now another year awaits us and we are ready to restart the Gioiella Prisma machine with a lot of passion and enthusiasm”.
