The Gioiella Prisma club brings another young blue talent to Taranto for next season, the opposite freshly called up to the national team Lorenzo Sala, born in 2002 for 2 meters in height, son of the former Modena centre-back Andrea.
He was born in Trento and raised in the Modena Volley youth team as a spiker/opposite and played three excellent seasons from 2020 in the first team in which he was often called upon by coach Andrea Giani, especially in service and double substitution.
Recently called up for the VNL by national team coach De Giorgi, Sala will be one of the four opposite players called up in the blue for summer 2023.
Protagonist of the group stages and semi-finals of the 5th place playoffs, in the opposite role he made a great contribution to the team, distinguishing himself as an excellent scorer.
Very fresh from his official call-up in blue, Lorenzo Sala will participate in the first collegiate of the national team, call of which he does not hide the emotion, as well as the great desire to reach Taranto at the end of this blue summer:
“What prompted me to accept this challenge is the great ambitious project in Taranto – declares Lorenzo Sala – and having the opportunity to get involved and finally make the big final leap after two fantastic years in Modena that have helped me so much. My ambitions for the future are to do the best possible and become a player of weight that Taranto can count on even when the ball is hot. The call-up to the national team is a nice icing on the cake of the beautiful year that has just ended: I will play all my cards and think about doing the best possible for the group and for my growth as a person because from Fefè and all the great champions who are present in blue you can only learn”
