Going on after the loss

Defeat at San Giustino on the sixth day of the championship. A knockout that left a very bitter taste in the mouth as confirmed by the words of assistant coach Paolo Zambolin: “A step back was taken not so much in terms of result because in any case if you can see from the partials they are two very very close partials. I never like to complain too much about the referees but yesterday they missed a ball with four touches from the opposite on ours and we would have been equal. Then we would still have lost 3-1 but it would probably have been another match. Having said that, we took a big step back in terms of attitude: we lacked a bit more malice. In attack we had a lot of trouble from the front despite we made a good change following Pascucci’s entry for less good reception in attack. Good in reception, bad in attack mostly due to the ball exchange and counterattack, we could have done better but we put them in a lot of trouble in reception. Everyone assumes their responsibilities, young people and experts without exception. Volleyball is played together and therefore I didn’t like some of the low looks so yes it was a step backwards but from an attitude point of view. Now the spotlight is on Modica and we will have to recover the points we lost so we must achieve a full victory.”
