Yesterday Sir Safety Susa Perugia resumed work at the PalaBarton.
After rest on Monday, the team met again in the Pian di Massiano headquarters to kick off this week’s activity which will culminate with Sunday’s away match in Modena for the top clash with coach Giani’s Valsa Group second of the class.
Double session yesterday, today purely technical work with a focus on receiving and improving some team mechanisms. The black and whites are all available with Andrea Anastasi and his staff who, without any midweek commitment, can highlight specific and peculiar aspects of the black and white game.
The great advantage in the standings, sixteen points ahead of Modena, is certainly reassuring from a perspective of first place in the regular season. First place which, in the event of a full three-point success at the PalaPanini, would become certified by mathematics.
A look at the statistics, with two thirds of the championship behind us, confirms the progress made so far. The Block Devils are in fact in command in all the various rankings.
Like that of the break points won (405) despite Perugia being the team that has played the fewest sets of all. In service, the bianconeri are the team with the most aces (108, 2.08 per set) while Anastasi’s reception line is confirmed as the most accurate (26.7% perfect).
Things don’t change going online. Sir Safety Susa is the best performing formation in attack with the best percentage (54.7%), the lowest number of direct errors (61) and the lowest number of blocks suffered (81). On blocks, the Bianconeri are first in the class for winning blocks based on the sets played (2.60).
All team numbers, a symptom that the continuous rotation of players operated by Anastasi has not affected the high general level of the sextet on the pitch. All numbers that naturally have the value they have at the moment (and everyone is well aware of it at Pian di Massiano), but which, yes, are a symptom of the goodness of the work done so far by everyone every day at the PalaBarton.
