Recovery Thursday for Sir Safety Susa Perugia.
Coach Anastasi, after the very high pace of training to which the team has undergone in recent days, has granted the Block Devils 24 hours of physical and mental rest. The team will return to the PalaBarton tomorrow morning for a physical work session in the weight room and then in the afternoon on the pitch for technical training which will kick off the sprint ahead of Sunday’s big match at Itas Trentino.
Andrea Anastasi spoke about Trento and much more during the week.
“Sunday’s match against Trento is important, as far as we’re concerned, especially from an information point of view even if it’s a team we know well having already faced them three times this season. For us now the priority is the key moments of the season itself and the first in order of time is certainly the Italian Cup. Having said that, we will go to Trento with great attention, very cautious and trying to play our best. We have always had difficulties against them, the previous victories have all been very painful, they are managed by a great coach and have great players in the squad”.
The Juventus coach broadly explains the type of work at Pian di Massiano this February with no midweek commitments.
“I am investing a lot of attention in our block-defense phase. Some aspects of the game, such as attacking and serving, are more in the hands of the great players, while the organization of the game is a priority for the coach, as is the management of the group. In general I’m trying to get the best out of the guys. We are working a lot, we are lucky in this period to be able to dedicate the whole week to training”.
The most delicate and most important phase of the season is coming, but Anastasi’s philosophy always remains the same found from the first day of preparation.
“I live the season very serenely appointment after appointment. Naturally, I follow the evolution of the Champions League and the Super League, but I don’t look at the standings very much. Now I’m obviously studying Trento in view of Sunday, but I’m studying Piacenza in particular in view of the semi-final of the Italian Cup. I’m trying to focus on one thing, now I’m very focused on the weekend of February 25th and 26th and I won’t go any further because it would mean wasting energy”.
