Volley Savigliano is pleased to announce that, also for the 2023/2024 season, the technical guidance of the first team involved in the Serie A3 Credem Banca championship will be entrusted to Lorenzo Simeon, assisted by Matteo Brignone.
Born in Turin in 1975, Simeon dedicated his life to volleyball: first as a setter, with a long career in Serie B, lived in the most important Piedmontese squares, then as a coach, a role that allowed him to reach Serie A3 Credem Banca.
The next one will be his fifth season in the third national category, after the three at ViviBanca Torino, where he was head coach from 2019 to 2022, and the most recent at PalaSanGiorgio, in which he wrote an important page in the biancoblu history, leading the Volley Savigliano in the quarter-finals of the playoffs and the final-eight of the Coppa Italia, the highest point in fifty years of volleyball in the city.
“I had no doubts when it came to choosing whether to continue with Volley Savigliano. – explains Simeon – This, because I believe that at the moment there is nothing better than a company that has shown me that it knows how to combine familiarity and organization. The year we leave behind has been magical, so it will be difficult to repeat ourselves. Let’s start again from the extraordinary fourth place with one desire: to consolidate ourselves in the category and demonstrate that we can stay permanently in the top half of the standings”.
At his side, as mentioned, there will always be him, Matteo Brignone, for all “Brigna”, who in the last season represented the link between Savigliano’s first experience in Serie A3, by Bonifetto, and the new and convincing adventure with Simeon. The chemistry between the two was immediately successful, as confirmed by the results on the pitch.
Brignone also underlines his attachment to the Savigliano cause: “My relationship with this reality has now lasted for some years and in each season the club has made progress from an organizational and sporting point of view, making me more and more involved in these improvements. It will be my third year in Serie A3 and I’m really happy. Last season was an intense one, a real ride, but the sensations towards the new vintage are really positive. Together with DS Caula we are defining the new roster and I think the work is very good so far. We will try to repeat ourselves, once again showing off a good volleyball, with an interesting and potentially very competitive team”.
