Morning training divided between weight room and field at PalaBarton for Sir Susa Vim Perugia.
After yesterday afternoon’s friendly test, coach Lorenzetti preferred not to further overload the Block Devils who will benefit from half a day of rest this afternoon. Further technical and athletic sessions for Solè and his teammates on Friday and Saturday before enjoying Sunday rest.
Yesterday’s joint training against Banca Macerata, a Serie A3 team, highlighted the good work done in this preparation by the Juventus group and a growing condition both from a technical-tactical and physical point of view.
“In the gym we are doing well what can be done in this period,” says Max Colaci. “We work on team play, on the sideout, on the break phase, on defense positions based on the calls. Obviously not everything can be done at the level that would be necessary, but the young guys are giving us a hand, they are very good, they have the desire and they allow us to be able to play a bit together. I believe that several positive things were seen in joint training against Macerata and all in all I am satisfied. How am I? Personally well, I’m preparing, I’m happy, happy, I still have fun and I have great motivation. I’ve always said, playing in Perugia for me is something beautiful and important so I’m happy to be able to do it this season. Season is upon us and the adrenaline is growing. Because in short, the preparation is nice, but then we want and need to play, we can’t wait because in the end we live for that. Unfortunately all the pre-Olympic years are terrible in terms of calendar, but this is nothing new, I spent many years in the national team and it has always been like this. Luckily the Super Cup won’t be played right away and that’s a positive thing, at least the leading teams will arrive with a few games in their legs and some more certainty.”
Yesterday morning Colaci, together with Ben Tara, was the protagonist of the first stage of the “Sir at school” project promoted by the Juventus club with the patronage of the Umbria Region, the Province of Perugia and the Municipality of Perugia and in collaboration with the Regional Scholastic Office in particular in the figure of Prof. Lorenzo Bertinelli. A project that will see the Block Devils around the schools of the district. Departure yesterday from the Giordano Bruno Institute of Higher Education in Perugia where, together with Colaci and Ben Tara, the assistant coach Andrea Piacentini and Mattia Cassieri, one of the young people added to the first team in this period, were also present for Sir Susa Vim and a student of the institute.
